So we figure that it is a pretty wild coincidence that this so-called "reclaimed wood from back east" happens to have the Basque Lauburu in it. It makes us feel more at home.

The Basque "Lauburu" In Our Floor
Here in Aspen, we live in a house with old barnwood floors from back east. The other day Becky noticed this design on one of the floorboards (look very closely):
This design is no other than the Basque symbol of Northern Spain, known as the Lauburu. "Lau" and "Buru" mean "four heads" or "four summits" in Euskera (the Basque language), representing the four regions of the Basque Country. The symbol is plastered all over the Basque country.
So we figure that it is a pretty wild coincidence that this so-called "reclaimed wood from back east" happens to have the Basque Lauburu in it. It makes us feel more at home.

That is so random that it's on your floorboards. Pretty Cool! Give me a call Becky when you're in town!
Are you kidding me? You guys have to show me which room this is in! I can't believe that I've missed this.
